Abstract: Nonhuman primates (NHPs) are crucial models in translational neuroscience for bridging the gap between micro-, meso- and macro scale. However, many NHP imaging studies to date have relatively small sample sizes, which does not allow cross-species comparison to big-data analysis of the human brain. This talk will introduce the PRIMatE Data Exchange (PRIME-DE) consortium. By leveraging this resource, I will present a large-scale functional connectome of macaques, and compare their developmental trajectory from juvenile to adulthood to that of the human connectome. I will also discuss the challenges in harmonizing and analyzing the NHP data and highlight the important role of NHP images for cross-species comparison and advancing our understanding of the human brain.
