摘要
Localized 1H MRS in alert monkeys was performed in a vertical 7T/60cm MR system utilizing increased sensitivity and spectral dispersion gained at high field. Refinements of acquisition and correction strategies were necessary to minimize magnetic susceptibility artifacts induced by respiration and mouth or body movement. Periods with major motion-artifacts were rejected, while a frequency/phase correction was performed on the remaining single spectra before averaging. In resting periods, both spectral amplitude and linewidth, i.e. the voxel shim, were unaffected permitting reliable measurements. The corrected spectra afforded the reliable quantitative detection of 6 to 10 brain cerebral metabolites of 1-mL volumes.
