Last Friday, February 6th, the inner courtyard of the ICPBR was transformed into a serene haven as staff gathered for a traditional Chinese tea ceremony to welcome the Lunar New Year. The event offered a peaceful interlude dedicated to cultural appreciation and communal reflection.
Guests were immersed in the rich heritage of Chinese tea culture through Jane's engaging presentation that explored the history and varieties of tea, followed by a live demonstration of traditional preparation methods. The ceremony provided a unique opportunity to experience the mindfulness and artistry at the heart of this ancient practice.
The event, which fostered cross-cultural understanding and community bonding, was made possible in part thanks to the support of the Primate Research Sub-Labor Union. Feedback from participants highlighted the success of the gathering as a meaningful cultural experience and a welcome moment of tranquility within our busy research environment.
