Research Assistant position in Prof. Logothetis Lab – Experimental Neuroscience (Rodent Research)

The International Center for Primate Brain Research (ICPBR) is co-directed by Prof. Nikos Logothetis and Prof. Muming Poo, and is affiliated with the Center for Excellence in Brain Science and Intelligence Technology (CEBSIT) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in Shanghai.

The Laboratory of Physiology of Cognitive Processes, led by Prof. Logothetis and Dr. Murayama, includes Dr. Ernesto Durán and colleagues, who aim to understand the role of the neuromodulatory systems in memory. We are seeking a highly motivated Experimental Research Assistant with experience in animal training and experimental work with rats.

Our research combines multidisciplinary approaches, including multi-site electrophysiological recordings, fiber photometry, and optogenetics in freely moving rats. Internal training will be provided where necessary.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1.    Assist with behavioral experiments in rats.

2.    Support the operation and maintenance of experimental equipment.

3.    Assist with brain tissue preparation, histological processing, and microscopy.

4.    Contribute to the quantification and analysis of behavioral, physiological, and anatomical data.

Requirements:

1.       Strong motivation and interest in experimental neuroscience research.

2.       Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related discipline.

3.       Good spoken and written English communication skills.

4.       Ability to work carefully with animals and follow experimental protocols.
