Biography:
Professor Feng Liu currently serves as a Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology, The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia. He was awarded his Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Engineering from Zhejiang University in 2000, and joined The University of Queensland to undertake postdoctoral research in the same year. For more than two decades, he has dedicated his research to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologies. He has published nearly 300 journal articles and holds multiple patents, with several core technologies successfully translated into industrial applications. Professor Liu is a recipient of the Australian Research Council (ARC) Outstanding Research Award.
Abstract:
In the context of MRI research at the University of Queensland, this talk will review the major technical challenges in MRI engineering—covering superconducting magnets, gradient and RF systems, and imaging methods—while highlighting several unsolved problems that call for breakthrough technologies in the MRI field.
